Physical Description: A slight girl of medium height and fair curves, Ava has porcelain skin which was naturally pale before she was turned. Her dark hair is long and her features are almost doll-like. She has large pale blue eyes and bow lips, along with a cherubic jawline that belies her age. Her long dark hair spills in curls past her shoulders and she tends to keep it down. She wears a little more makeup than her sister, preferring to be more dramatic with her looks, unless she's trying to confuse people (and then she adopts her sister's manner of cosmetics.) She likes jewelry and wears plenty of it when she can get away with it and she tends to dress in the latest fashions.
Distinguishing marks: Other than a few tiny moles here and there, Ava only has one distinguishing mark - a tiny tattoo of a heart on the right side of her bikini line.

Personality: First and foremost, the one thing in the entire world that Ava cares about more than anything else is her twin sister Ana. Other than that, Ava is a diva. Stubborn, spoiled, and egotistic, Ava has spent most of her young life living it to excess. Gourmet food, haute couture fashion, and non stop parties have made Ava into a lush. Creative and clever, Ava is a sharp young woman. She has a rather good sense of humor about most things and considers herself a flexible person. She is friendly to anyone who doesn't give her good reason not to be. Rather than having her sister's outlook of living life to the fullest, she instead takes risks because she is trying to break out of her own shell of indifference. She is self-destructive to a point, finding herself drawn to dark and dangerous things. Her self-destruction comes from a deep seeded sense of guilt over the car accident that caused her family so much pain. She lacks her sister's drive to do much of anything and is rather lost, given that she has practically forever now to do nothing.

Personal Background: Ava was born the eldest of twin sisters in 1982 to society darlings Victor and Lana Van de Witt, heirs to a large media empire and its fortune. She grew up sheltered in the bosom of a traditionally rich New England family - distracted parents gave way to maids, nannies, butlers, and cooks. It was an odd family, but a family nonetheless, though Ava grew the closest to her own twin. The two were near inseparable, talking to each other in a language only the other could understand, which frustrated their caretakers to no end.

Due to a childish squabble, Ava stayed home while her sister and parents went on a short outing. However, Ana convinced her parents to turn around to pick up Ava and tragedy struck in the form of an awful car accident. Victor and Lana were killed in the crash and Ana was critically injured. In one afternoon Ava's life was turned upside down. Battling with her loss and her own feelings of guilt and remorse over the accident, Ava fought to be allowed in the hospital, and after half a week she was allowed in and spent nearly every waking minute with her comatose sister, speaking to no one but her own sister for that long month and for the entire month she spoke nothing but twin speak to her sister, praying she would live. She stood by her sister's side through out her entire healing period, neglecting her own studies and even life to help her sister. Her sister was her life now.

The twins were taken in and raised by their strict aunt Margaret, who believed that just because they were rich did not mean that they deserved to be spoiled. She was hardest on Ana, who she kept confined due to her near death experience. Ava couldn't stand her aunt, hating the fact that the woman was keeping their fortune from them, and she acted out whenever she could. Ana preferred to undertake dangerous stunts as her acting out, while Ava herself found comfort in the party lifestyle of her friends. Drinking was a nightly occurrence, occasionally coupled with illicit rendezvous and drugs. The only things Ava cared about were her sister and her voice, which she planned to use to get a career as a soprano singer. Like many things, Ava took her voice for granted, not thinking about how or really even concerned with the fact that her drinking or drug use would affect it. One night she introduced her sister to a man named Mike, a known drug dealer. Ava herself had tried several of the smaller drugs, preferring to not endanger her own life for a high. What would her little sister do without her?

What she hadn't realized was that with Ana's daredevil demeanor, she had opened a Pandora's box. Mike soon had Ana turned onto heroin and Ava had no clue that her twin was shooting up frequently. The changes in her looks had escaped Ava - she was too absorbed in her own life and often sleeping when Ana was moving about. The lifestyle both of them were living had separated them. The nigh inseparable twins were feeling the strain of their lifestyle choices, and it affected their time together. Ana was busy during the days and Ava partied hard at night. Ava spent more and more time with her friends and grew more distant from her sister. She was far more absorbed in herself and her new friend, Eli. Eli was a party goer, a night child like herself, and heir to a large fortune also. He commiserated with her on the toils and tribulations of such a life and spent quite a bit of time with her.

One night, he also revealed himself to be a vampire. Ava, having grown into a rather blase' young woman, was intrigued instead of shocked and so she asked him to bite her out of some bizarre desire to do something dangerous that her twin hadn't. It was a strange desire, but she wanted in one way to be completely different than her twin. Little did she know that the bite would soon become a habit, and that her sister and she shared similarly dangerous obsessions.

After graduation, Ava sadly bid Eli adieu as she and her sister moved to New York City. Ava had managed, by the skin of her teeth, to eek out an acceptance to Julliard thanks to her voice. Her sister attended Arrojo Cosmetology School and the two shared a rather nice apartment, having finally gotten access to the fortune left to them, no thanks to their sour Aunt.

Ava worked hard, but the thing she worked hard at wasn't school. It didn't take her much time to locate another vampire, finding that high society parties were fairly well crawling with them. After one year, Ava spent too much time in the party scene, searching out vampires, and she flunked out of Julliard, finding it difficult to care about college when she had no need of it. Staying up all night and sleeping all day, she took to a life of excess and indulgence, one that ended up with a rather happier ending than her previous indulgences.

One of her vampire paramours was an older one by the name of Saul. He was rather impressed by Ava's attitude and voice and he wanted to turn her, constantly asking her to allow him to turn her. He wanted to possess her. Ava, not particularly moved by his asking or his promises and rather annoyed at the idea of being owned, laughed blithely and brushed him off, returning to him again and again for her late night bites. It wasn't until Ava found out that her sister was terminally ill that she seriously considered taking up Saul on his offer.

One night, Ava went to Saul with a counter proposal. She would agree to be turned and to be his as long as he turned her twin sister as well. Saul agreed, so long as Ava and Ana would attend his alma mater for training, as he did not want to deal with two newborn vampires on his own, especially given Ana's new found sense of increased recklessness. Saul sent them to Halcyon Halls, with instruction to Ava that as soon as they were ready to blend back into human society, they would return to him. Agreeing, Ava left alongside her twin.

Weakness: Sunlight, fire, and holy items/places are all deadly to Ava, as well as heart, head, or spinal trauma.
Magical Abilities: Ava can cast illusions that are currently limited to the realm of sight. Small illusions, such as personal changes to her own self, can last as long as twenty four hours, but larger illusions take much more out of her and require rest after wards. Her illusions can be as large as 20 feet by 20 feet, but an illusion of that strength is very difficult to sustain, doesn't have the same quality as smaller illusions, and as it stands she can only keep an illusion like that up for a minute or so at most.
